"As soon as I spoke to Adrienne I knew I had found my doula. She put me at ease from the start. Although my labor didn’t go the way I had envisioned, Adrienne was with me every step of the way. She arrived at the hospital at almost the same time as my husband and I did and stayed with us throughout my 28 hour-long labor. She kept my spirits up with massages and by encouraging me to use my birthing ball and stretch despite being hooked up to machines. She advocated for me with the delivery nurses in a very gracious way. Adrienne also ensured that I understood my options during the stages of my labor. I feel certain that as a first time mother my experience would have been a lot more traumatic without Adrienne’s calming influence.
